Pet Skincare

The condition of an animal's skin, fur or coat is a good indicator of their overall health. Unfortunately, some animals suffer from skin problems that can impact on their quality of life and require lifelong treatment, but for the most part, most common conditions are treatable or manageable.

Flaky skin and sores are very clear indicators of a problem which may have been triggered through a combination of lifestyle (diet and environment) and in certain cases genetic predisposition. In these instances, you should consult your veterinarian as soon as you notice any changes to your pet's skin or fur.

Regular cleaning and grooming, an appropriate diet, and paying attention to hazards such as fleas, ticks and other irritants can help to prevent or reduce the occurence of skin problems in your pet.
